Each character in this game has a special ability. Sonic can do this zoom attack, Tails can fly, Amy can use her hammer and so on. Did I say that Amy can use her hammer? You unlock the other three characters as you play and I like how Sega made each one feels special. Using your partner's special abilities is not just fun, but also feels useful. The core gameplay is what you would expect. It is fast and fun and very frantic. You have seven different zones and each one has three acts as well as a boss battle.
It is a stacked Sonic game and a damn fine one at that. As you have probably guessed, Sonic Advance 3 is a game that I really do like. It is my favorite of the Sonic Advance trilogy and it is one of my all-time favorite Sonic games. It is just so much fun to play and I feel that Sega really nailed the team-up aspect here.
